It's been a long time since my last newsletter. Haven't closed shop folks, just very busy.
Yesterday, was Microsoft Patch Tuesday, which means that new updates are available for you Microsoft Windows computers and Office applications. For most people you will find that your computer will install the updates automatically. You can manually update your computer by going to Start > Applications (or Programs) and chose the Windows Update application, which should be close to the top of the list. Vista and Windows 7 users will find the Windows Update application usually by just clicking on Start.
Some of you may have heard about this being the last update for Windows XP and that Microsoft will no longer provide support for XP. But that is only if you have failed to keep your system up to date. Specifically, Microsoft will no longer support those computers that have not upgraded XP beyond Service Pack 2. Currently, you should have Service Pack 3 installed.
If you are concerned about what Service Pack you have installed, you can go to Start > Control Panel. In the Control Panel find an icon titled, System. Double click on it and on the first tab opens, it will tell you what system you are running and which service you have installed.
