A great read is Michelle Goldberg's "Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism." In her exposé of the fundamentalist right, Michelle shows the depths to which this really fringe group has penetrated into pivotal levels of community, state and local government. The feat has often been accomplished with the support (political and monetary) of the government, despite a strict Constitutional division between church and state. The anti-constitutional liberties that have been provided via Bush's faith-based initiative are exposed for what they are.
If there is any doubt as to the depth to which the fundies have penetrated within government institution another good read is Michael Weinstein's "With God On Our Side," which exposes proselytizing in the military. I have not read this book, but I have heard "Mikey" speak on several occasions, as well as other individuals within the military at present. The stories collaborate one another and therefore I am inclined to believe their story. There is, by the way, a report on Dan Rather's show about Michael Weinstein, which can be viewed at:

Critical Windows Flaw
Security Issue for Windows XP Users
A critical security flaw has been discovered that effects Windows XP systems with Internet Explorer version 7. It specifically applies to systems that have upgraded from Internet Explorer version 6 to version 7. Whereas XP systems were the only ones that were updated from one version to the other, therefore users of earlier versions of Windows need not worry about this issue, nor do users of version 6 or earlier of Internet Explorer.
The exploit arises when a users clicks on a link that has been maliciously designed to execute code that can then be run on the user's computer.
The flaw should be fixed by the next Patch Tuesday, which will be on November 13. Till then, users should be cautious about the links in web sites, emails, etc. from sources that are otherwise not well-known. Users might also want to consider installing and using Firebird or Opera instead of Internet Explorer.
Firebird is available at:

Opera is available at:
